About BTF’s Tech Ecosystem Town-hall Meeting (what to expect)
In 2016 Vershima and myself decided to make intentional efforts towards creating an active tech ecosystem in Benue state, Nigeria. We later met with Samantha and Samuel who were equally interested in the vision and the first Benue Tech Forum team was formed. In January 2017 we held our first ever conference to unveil Benue Tech Forum. It was a huge success, our team grew bigger and the tech community in Benue is very active today and keeps growing.
From 2017–2018 many amazing things happened in Benue, thanks to the efforts of selfless individuals and our generous partners. It has been 2 years of building an awesome tech ecosystem in Benue. We went from a state without a tech hub to one with over 2 hubs. From a state without any popular developer communities like Google Developer Group to one with one of the most active Google Developer Group in North-Central Nigeria. All these happened thanks to all of us sharing the same vision. We believe the only direction we can head is towards the top and that is why we are starting 2019 with an event we tag: “tech ecosystem town hall meeting”
What is BTF’s Tech Ecosystem Town Hall Meeting?
According to Wikipedia “Town hall meetings, also referred to as town halls or town hall forums, are a way for local and national politicians to meet with their constituents, either to hear from them on topics of interest or to discuss specific upcoming legislation or regulation.”
At our tech ecosystem town hall meeting, we aim to bring tech enthusiasts, experts, local leaders, startups entrepreneurs, stakeholders and government/regulators together to listen to members of the tech community in Benue and discuss how we can all work together to achieve even more:

More in supporting local ideas to give birth to startups,
More in creating an enabling environment for brilliant minds to move from 0 to hero on achieving their tech dream.
